Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified psychiatrist to join our team as a part-time contractor to provide new patient evaluations at our crisis stabilization agency. The Psychiatrist will be responsible for conducting initial psychiatric assessments of new patients to determine appropriate diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and make recommendations for ongoing care.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct psychiatric evaluations of new patients to assess mental health status, medical history, and other relevant factors.
· Utilize evidence-based treatment practices to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
· Prescribe medication and provide medication management services as needed.
· Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure coordinated care and effective communication of treatment plans and patient progress.
· Complete all documentation required by the agency in a timely and accurate manner.
· Participate in supervision and consultation meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
· Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
· Current license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia, with board certification in psychiatry.
· Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and prescribing medication for individuals with mental health diagnoses.
· Knowledge of evidence-based treatment practices for individuals with mental health diagnoses.
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with colleagues, clients, and community resources.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
